The worst excuses for not working out (and how to debunk them, with a touch of WODANDGO) 😎
We've all done it. A little excuse here, a good reason there to avoid a workout. But let's be honest: most of the time, they're just well-rehearsed pretexts to stay on the couch. Today, we're debunking these excuses one by one... with a good dose of humor and a touch of WODANDGO!
1. "I don't have time"
🚫 HELLO: Lame excuse!
You have time to scroll through videos on Instagram for 30 minutes, but not for a quick workout? Strange.
💡 Solution: Grab your WODANDGO grips, do a 20-minute AMRAP, and prove to the world that you can prioritize your goals. Because, after all, even a superhero would find 30 minutes to train between two rescues.
2. "I'm too tired"
🚫 Classic excuse, but not always justified.
Tired of what? Sitting all day? 🤔
Unless you're sick or chronically sleep-deprived, exercise can actually help you regain energy!
💡 Solution: Put on your WODANDGO knee sleeves, do a few squats, and watch your energy levels soar. Spoiler: activity boosts energy, so stop yawning and move your body!
3. "I'm too sore"
🚫 Beginner's excuse!
If being sore meant stopping, no one would continue after the first WOD.
💡 Solution: Do a little cycling to gently wake up your muscles and then follow up with a short mobility flow. Follow with a calisthenics and gymnastics WOD, your WODANDGO grips didn't let you down yesterday, and they won't today!
4. "I don't feel like it"
🚫 We can't deny it: Honest excuse, but worth challenging.
Don't feel like it? But you felt like eating pizza last night, didn't you?!
💡 Solution: Put on your favorite music, put on your ultra-stylish carbon grips, and tell yourself that the desire comes with movement. Challenge yourself: just start with a warm-up, and if you still don't feel like it after... well, okay, go eat your pizza. But we all know you'll end up doing the WOD!
5. "I'm afraid of what others think"
🚫 Excuse that holds back FAR TOO many people.
Newsflash: everyone is too busy surviving their own WOD to judge you! And let's be honest... No one leaves a good workout looking fresh and rested.
💡 Solution: Build confidence with good gear! Awesome grips, stylish knee sleeves, and you're ready to string together reps without thinking about others. And besides, between us, those who are watching you are probably just impressed. 😏
6. "I don't have the right equipment"
🚫 Easy excuse, but not valid.
It's true that without the right grips, your hands will look like a topographical map after a WOD where gymnastics prevailed.
💡 Solution: Invest in solid gear (like WODANDGO grips, for example...). Because yes, the right equipment can make the difference between a good session and a session of suffering!
7. "It's too cold / hot / bad weather"
🚫 Weather excuse... unless there's a tornado.
The weather is just an excuse not to sweat. But spoiler: you're going to sweat no matter what. Summer or winter, heavy sweating is present...
💡 Solution: If you're outside, adapt your clothing; feel free to check out our textile offerings, they're pretty stylish. If you're indoors, stop looking at the weather and grab your equipment to warm up immediately. Come on, a little EMOM and we forget the rain!
8. "I'm not making progress, it's useless"
🚫 Frustration excuse.
If every workout made you stronger immediately, everyone would be Rich Froning or Tia-Clair Toomey in a month.
💡 Solution: Take a photo today, try again in a month, and you'll see the difference. And if you're feeling down, challenge yourself with a new routine or a new training technique. Grips, knee sleeves, or belt, equip yourself and go for it!
9. "I trained yesterday, I need a break"
🚫 Sometimes a legitimate excuse... but not always.
Rest is good. But if it's an excuse to binge-watch Netflix, then no.
💡 Solution: Do a lighter session, work on your mobility, or try an accessory you don't often use. You can even try a jump rope workout; it works your cardio without burning you out.
10. "I'll start on Monday / next month / after the holidays"
🚫 Procrastination excuse.
You know what? Monday is today. Unless your foot is broken, there's no valid excuse to postpone the date!
💡 Solution: Grab your bag, put on your grips, and start now. No need to wait for a perfect day; the best time to progress is always now.
No more excuses, take action!
Excuses are easy. But results only come with discipline. The next time you're looking for an excuse to skip a session, remember this article... and go train with your WODANDGO equipment! 💪🔥
